Fellowship Opportunities

Women's Fellowship

Throughout the years, the mission of women's groups throughout the United Church of Christ has been ever changing. Our Rangeley group finds that, although technically every woman is a member, we are most fortunate to have many friends join with us when we gather to craft items for our major fund raiser, The Holly Fair.

In addition, everyone pitches in to sell RADA cutlery at Rangeley's Strawberry and Blueberry Festivals. Then, too, whenever called upon we support and celebrate the life of our church community's milestones such as anniversaries of all types, welcoming new members into our church family and saying our goodbyes. We answer with food, time and talents.

Organized in the early days of this church to raise funds enabling completion of the sanctuary, today's women not only honor the opportunity to serve our Rangeley Congregational Church family, but also the greater Rangeley, national and international communities. All profits from the Holly Fair go to a variety of local scholarships and local and national charities. Some of the recipients have included Rangeley Student Scholarships, HELP, RRHAT Van, Books for Babies, Rangeley Meals on Wheels, The Giving Tree, Deacon’s Community Relief Fund, Library OWL Program, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Little Mountain School, Rangeley School Back Pack Program and WRGY.

Feel free to contact our church office or any of our coordinators, Nancy Zambraski, Kathy Brittain, Linda Caspar or Paula Hatfield for information and a personal welcome to join with our church women as they continue the tradition of supporting our minister and greater church family.

Prayer Shawl

We meet every the first and third Mondays of each month, from 2:00 to 3:30 to make prayer shawls. These are then given to anyone in need of comfort throughout the year. We hope that those who receive our gifts will understand that they are wrapped in God's love and our prayers. To date, we've delivered over 1400 prayer shawls to people in our extended community. We welcome all talents, or just those interested in learning. We knit, weave, crochet,... Bring your own materials or we will provide fiber out of our yarn closet. For additional information, contact Diane VanAmburg via the church office.

Men's Breakfast

The men gather on the second Monday of each month at 8:00AM at various local restaurants. All are invited to attend from members, to visitors, to anyone with a desire to meet with men of the Church. Come join us for informal conversation and camaraderie and an opportunity to eat bacon in a guilt free environment. For additional information call Kirby Holcombe at 864-5748.
